The story of two and they loved each other
More than anyone will ever know
But the girl she took the old consumption
And it broke the boy's heart you know
they carried her up in the mountains
To try to gain her health you see
But listen all you good people
You never can cure the old T.B
He would often go up to the mountain
And set upon his sweetheart's bed
But the saddest part of the story
Now the boy too is dead
They buried them up in the mountains
they sleep together now at rest
The old T.B sent them to Heaven
But God up yonder knows the best
